Reformer Pilates: A complete explanation
Reformer Pilates is carried out on a piece of equipment called a Reformer that resembles a bed called a carriage. They sometimes look a little bit intimidating but it is a very useful and multifunctional piece of equipment! There are springs attached to this carriage which act as resistance or support depending on the focus of the exercise, you can add or take away springs to increase or decrease the resistance. We also have ropes that can act as hand or foot straps to complete a series of exercises specific to the reformer. We complete a lot of the class lying flat on this bed but can also kneel and stand on the carriage.
