Body Stress Release
Body Stress Release is a gentle but incredibly powerful technique. The practitioner assists the body in releasing deeply held muscle tensions, the classic symptoms of which can be structural (such as long term back pain/discomfort, neck pain, recurring headaches, recurring joint problems) to more general stress related issues (such as insomnia, hampered functioning of internal systems and general day to day experience of ‘feeling stressed’).
Body Stress Release is for everyone, from infants to the elderly. By allowing the body to unlock previously blocked neural pathways through very gentle but precise stimulus, it assists the body in restoring its self-healing capacity and thus removing the symptoms of deeply held stress.
Our Body Stress Release Practitioner
NICK SOWONOLA MBSRA (UK)
After training at the Body Stress Release Academy in South Africa in the late 1990’s, Nicholas returned to London to practice where he became London’s first full time Body Stress Release practitioner. He now has nearly twenty years of experience and was honoured to be named as one of London’s top therapists by the Evening Standard newspaper.
Having previously worked as a mental health co-ordinator and co-run workshops, retreats and groups, Nicholas gained a deep understanding of the mind and body connection of our well being.
Through his work he has seen how physical, mental and emotional stress has a physical impact on the body experienced as a wide variety of ailments and symptoms and has enjoyed observing the assistance that the Body Stress Release technique has brought so many of his clients over nearly two decades of experience.

“I’ve had a bad back for many years and have tried lots of different therapies, some have worked better than others. Over the years I’ve seen Chiropracters, Osteopaths, a Podiatrist and taken numerous painkillers and anti-inflammatories. The treatments I’ve received have often worked in the short term, but my symptoms returned.
I was introduced to Nick by a colleague who had been to Nick with problems with her back and was amazed at the improvement – she described him as having “healing hands”.
I went to see Nick and now I agree with her! After my initial assessment, where Nick explained what the issues were and how they would be treated, I went to see Nick every week and this reduced over time as my symptoms eased and improved. The Body Stress Release technique is highly effective and very relaxing. Nick also gave me exercises to do which helped to improve my core stability and support my back on a daily basis.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Nick – he is truly professional, highly skilled at what he does and is a lovely human being.” – Pauline Buckley
