Melanie has offered Reiki treatments at reCentre-health since 2009 and it’s her warm and empathetic nature which enables her to form trusting and positive relationships with clients.
A strong advocate of prevention being better than cure, Melanie was introduced to the benefits of Reiki (meaning Universal Life Energy) by Reiki Alliance Master, Tripuri Dunne, in 2000 and trained in 2008. Convinced of the benefits to health and well being through personal and clients’ experiences, Melanie became a Reiki Master/Teacher in 2014.
Melanie is a member of The Reiki Association (a community of people initiated into Reiki), a registered member of the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council) and has been verified as a Reiki Practitioner by The Reiki Council. She has also trained as a Soul Midwife, which is a non-medical companion to the dying.
Research suggests strongly there is value in integrating touch therapies such as Reiki into acute hospital settings. Since June 2016 Melanie has been the Lead Reiki Practitioner with Full Circle Fund Therapies, a registered charity based at St George’s Hospital. Trained in a clinical setting by experienced FCFT therapists, Melanie offers Reiki to patients in acute settings such as Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology wards. Melanie also teaches Reiki Level 1 & Level 2 courses in Balham and supports a strong and supportive local Usui Shiki Ryoho community.
If you’re curious about the style of practice called Reiki Usui Shiki Ryoho, Melanie welcomes your questions. Please get in touch with her to arrange a treatment in person (or from a distance) at a time that suits you by sending an email to [email protected]
