Cranial Osteopathy
Cranial Osteopathy is a very gentle and safe treatment and can be used to help people of any age but can be an excellent treatment for babies and children. If a baby has experienced any birth trauma, cranial treatment during infancy can treat potential imbalances before the bones and fascia are set. Every patient is a unique individual and as such, every patient will respond to cranial treatment in their own way.
We have two cranial osteopaths at reCentre Health who are also paediatric Osteopath specialists who have extensive experience treating babies and adults; Marcia Hugall and Ruth Levitan
We are able to invoice both AXA PPP and BUPA for cranial osteopathy appointments. If you are claiming through BUPA please ensure your authorisation code is linked to the practitioner name.
Lactation Physiotherapy
We offer specialist treatment with a Physiotherapist for blocked ducts and mastitis due to breastfeeding which can help to relieve pain and the blockage to support you on your breastfeeding journey.
This treatment helps to relieve the painful symptoms that can arise from blocked ducts or mastitis but cannot identify what is causing these. We recommend having this treatment alongside seeking advice from a lactation consultant, who we are able to refer you to.
Includes:
- An initial assessment to identify your symptoms - blocked ducts, mastitis or engorgement
- Therapeutic ultrasound treatment to help remove the blockage and treat inflammation with heat and vibration
- Breast massage alongside ultrasound to create movement and release blockage
- Advice, education and referral to a lactation consultant if needed. Please note this appointment does not identify any latch or feeding problems causing your symptoms but it does treat the pain and symptoms. We recommend seeing a lactation consultant to help any feeding or latch problems to stop the symptoms occurring.
