Yoga at reCentre is suitable for everyone, young, old, can’t touch the toes, – there is something for all, including specialised classes for mothers-to-be and new mothers.
At reCentre we take steps to ensure that our classes are safe and effective and we acknowledge that we are made up of a complex system of physical body, mindful activity and more subtle energies. We include time for stillness in each class, whether through relaxation or sitting in brief meditation. We also understand the physical body, how to release tension and can work with various ailments.
All our Yoga teachers are qualified through well respected schools of yoga, like The British Wheel of Yoga, Yogacampus and TriYoga.
We have maximum of 12 students in any class as we feel that this is the only way to give every client the attention they deserve. All the equipment you need is provided and the studio is temperature and airflow controlled, clean and inviting.
Hatha Yoga Class - Open Level
This open level Hatha yoga class is suitable for all, including complete beginners. You will be guided through a mindful practice with a strong focus on intelligent alignment, which aims to build strength and flexibility in both body and mind.
Through exploration, contemplation and relaxation this class will help deepen your awareness with the physical and emotional body.
Hatha Yoga Foundations
Beginners Hatha yoga is suitable for all ages and abilities. The class is a gentle introduction to yoga, flowing through a sequence of traditional postures, with emphasis on moving with and from the breath. The class will also incorporate some simple breathing techniques. If you have an injury or are pregnant, please check with a medical practitioner first and also with the teacher to discuss whether the class is suitable.
Pregnancy Yoga
Pregnancy is a wonderful time to practise yoga. It helps keep the body supple without straining. Yoga breathing helps you to relax, improves circulation and can help you relieve the pain of labour in childbirth. Our Antenatal Yoga Classes are provided by extremely well qualified and experienced teachers who will be very capable in supporting you during your pregnancy and birth preparation.
Adjustments and modifications can be individually tailored so that no previous experience of yoga is necessary to join a class.
Please note:
Please wait until after your 12 week scan before attending any form of new exercise/class.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa flow is about movement and breath – sequences of postures are taught in a continuous flow with attention paid to threading movement with the inhale and exhale. It’s a dynamic and diverse practise that can vary in speed and intensity, so whilst you should expect a physically challenging class, be assured that your teacher will always have the ability to tailor the class to the abilities of the students. This class is open to any level excluding recently pregnant ladies. A degree of yoga experience is helpful but not essential.
Yoga Flow All Levels
Open to all except complete beginners. This class gracefully weaves the asanas (postures) together, orchestrated by the breath to build strength, stamina and flexibility. It will release tension from the body, improve your posture and leave you feeling stronger, more energised and happy.
With a good dose of relaxation to top things off, this class will leave you refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
