Somatic Experiencing can help ground you and connect you to your centre, thereby offering you the strength and presence to get through stressful times with more ease and comfort.
It can help alleviate muscular pains, for example in the shoulders and neck, or help with other physical symptoms like digestion problems and headaches.
Somatic Experiencing is a body awareness based talking therapy. Conversation will be supported by watching, sensing and tracking the body and it’s responses. Some gentle movement might be used, for example slowly pressing feet into the ground to help release tension out of the legs. Touch may be used in a session, but is not essential, and is always completely at the discretion of the client.
